Jardim Botânico do Brooklyn/ Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Quando lembro da primavera a primeira coisa que me vem na mente é minha alergia (ao danado pólen) e as lindas cerejeiras (sakura). Não tem como não ficar animada esperando a chegada dela, com árvores lindas originais do Japão, país que eu amo desde pequena! E nesta época quando a cidade fica toda florida, rola o festival Sakura Matsuri no Jardim Botânico do Brooklyn (mais informações AQUI), que este ano será nos dias 26 e 27 de Abril, uma verdadeira celebração a cultura japonesa com direito a tradicional cerimônia do chá, shows de J-POP, samurais, aulas de ikebana, cosplays, kimonos, mangás e muito mais!

Aqui em Nova York este é o festival mais famoso mas você encontra cerejeiras por várias partes da cidade, principalmente no Central Park! Eu sempre quis ir ao festival mas mais uma vez estarei trabalhando no dia e vou perder :( Por isso aproveitei um tempinho livre e fui lá no Brooklyn conferir como estava o jardim, três dias antes! Como o Sakura Matsuri vai acontecer um pouco mais cedo este ano e nosso inverno foi bem rigoroso, as cerejeiras não estavam ainda toooodas floridas mas encontrei várias no caminho e aproveitei para fotografar pro blog! Acabei me empolgando e minha mãe tirou várias fotos minhas por lá! Já que eu estou sempre por trás das câmeras, me rendi, o cenário era muito kawaii ("fofo" em japonês ^^) pra passar!
Quem for ao festival este final de semana não deixe de me contar se gostou e coma muito manju por mim :) Ah! E se você aprecia flores, não deixe de conferir o Art in Bloom, uma exposição linda no lobby do hotel The Out, da minha amiga Marcela, do dia 21 de Abril ao dia 12 de Maio!

When I think about spring, the first thing that comes to my mind is my allergy (annoying pollen) and the beautiful sakura (cherry blossom). I can't help it but love these gorgeous trees, orginally from Japan, a place that I love so much <3 And around this time the city is all surrounded by them and its soft and gentle colors, not to mention the many festivals- to celebrate them, the spring and why not, the amazing weather that comes with it?!!
The most popular one I know is the Sakura Matsuri at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden (more information here), that happens this weekend, April 26th and 27th. It's going to be a real celebration of Japanese culture, with ikebana classes, tea ceremonies, kimonos, samurais, cosplays and much more!

I won't be able to go (I'll be photographing amazing clients all weekend long in the city :D) so I stopped by yesterday, 3 days before the festival to check on the garden. Since we had a very long winter and the festival will be held a little earlier this year, the sakuras weren't all there yet, but we all hope they will just in time for the weekend festivities!
